Decha Cattery was established in 2014. The breeder began her journey after adopting her first Sphynx in 2009. Several sphynx later, and well-enamoured, the opportunity to establish a cattery and breed these delightful felines presented itself.
Decha is the Huron-Wendat word for 'cat'. The Huron-Wendat First Nations people come from the area near Toronto, Canada, where the modern Sphynx cat breed originated in the 1960s. Although a little further North and to the West - the word Decha resonates with the beauty and sophistication of the breed.
Located near Port Adelaide, South Australia, Decha Cattery is one of only four South Australian breeders.
